Plan detection around your premises
Explain the building layout, access points, occupied hours and areas that need separate setting arrangements. Include planned changes to storage, tenancy or operations so the proposed zones reflect how the property will be used.
Specify the notification and response
An alarm signal needs a defined destination and response. State whether you require local notification or a monitored service, and agree contacts, escalation and keyholder responsibilities. Any insurer requirements should be supplied before the system is specified.
Existing systems, faults and maintenance
Provide available system details, service records and a description of recurring faults or unwanted alarms. Testing and diagnosis should establish the cause before replacement is proposed. Agree access and notification arrangements before work that could trigger an alarm.
A usable handover
Agree user instructions, setting routines, authorised access, testing arrangements and how changes are reported. Do not include alarm codes or sensitive access information in the initial website enquiry.
