For owners and the teams working with them
Discuss security for your home directly with MCN Fire & Security, or involve your architect, developer, estate manager or main contractor. Tell us whether the property is occupied, being refurbished or under construction so the work can be planned around the project.
A coordinated approach to your property
Start with entrances, boundaries, outbuildings and how your household uses the property. Discuss camera views, intrusion detection, controlled access and gate operation as parts of one brief. Equipment positions, cabling and user controls should be considered alongside the architecture and the way you want to live in your home.
CCTV and monitoring requirements
Decide whether you need recording for later review, remote viewing or a monitoring service with agreed event assessment and escalation. Existing equipment needs a compatibility review. Monitoring hours, provider responsibilities and response arrangements must be confirmed in the proposal.
Discreet planning and a useful handover
Use the initial enquiry to share your general location, property-value band and requirements. Do not submit alarm codes, passwords or detailed security vulnerabilities. Agree a suitable way to share sensitive plans with the team after first contact. Include training, authorised users and maintenance expectations in the brief.
